چکیده

Measurements of ep scattering with squared 4{momentum transfer Q 2 up to 35000 GeV 2 are compared with the expectation of the standard deep-inelastic model of lepton{nucleon scattering (DIS). For Q 2 > 15000 GeV 2 , N obs = 12 neutral current candidate events are observed where the expectation is N DIS = 4:71 0:76 events. In the same Q 2 range, N obs = 4 charged current candidates are observed where the expectation is N DIS = 1:77 0:87 events. The probability P(N N obs) that the DIS model signal N uctuates to N N obs in a random set of experiments is 6 10 ?3 for neutral current and 0:14 for charged current. The diierence in the observed and expected number of Neutral Current events is mostly due to events at large masses M = p x s in which the positron is backscattered at large y = Q 2 =M 2 .

Events with Isolated Leptons and Missing Transverse Momentum at Hera

Events with isolated leptons and missing transverse momentum are searched for in electron– or positron–proton collisions at HERA by the H1 and ZEUS experiments. Such events may be explained within the Standard Model by W boson production, followed by leptonic decay. The analysis performed including HERA I and the recently collected data at HERA II results in clear evidence ofW production. Howev...

Effective eeqq contact interactions can enhance event rates in ep scattering at HERA at high Q. Present constraints from atomic parity violation measurements and from Drell Yan events at the Tevatron are discussed. Both the H1 [1] and ZEUS [2] experiments at HERA have observed an excess above SM expectations in ep → ejX events at Q > 15,000 GeV. Only the H1 data, however, are suggestive of an s...

Contact interactions and high - Q 2 events in e + p collisions at HERA

We consider eeqq contact interactions as a possible origin of an excess of events above Standard Model predictions in ep → e jet at high Q observed by the H1 and ZEUS collaborations at HERA. The HERA data prefer chirality RL or LR contact terms and atomic physics parity violation measurements severely limit parity-odd contact terms. With equal left-right and right-left chirality interactions at...

YUMS - 98/05 February 1997 IMPLICATIONS OF THE HERA EVENTS FOR THE R-PARITY BREAKING SUSY SIGNALS AT TEVTARON

The two experimental groups at DESY, H1 and ZEUS, have reported some anomalous high Q events from the ep collider. The H1 has seen 12 neutral current events, at Q > 15,000 GeV 2 against the Standard Model(SM) prediction of 5 events 1 ; while the ZEUS has reported 5 events at Q >20,000 GeV 2 against the prediction 2 of 2. The excess of 7 events observed by H1 has clusterd around a common eq mass of

Recent Results from the H1 Collaboration

During the years 1994–2007 the HERA ep collider in Hamburg collided electrons or positrons with an energy of 27.5GeV and protons with an energy of 920GeV, at a centre-of-mass energy of 320GeV. The last months of data taking were dedicated to special low energy runs, with proton energies of 460 and 575GeV, corresponding to centre-of-mass energies of 220 and 250GeV, respectively. During the whole...
